Re: Installing Mini PCIE SSD y560

We haven't tried them but if it says msata then it is very likely to work. Pick the one with the best iops or 4kb random access speed. Make sue you can return it if it is incompatible or defective. Also try to avoid reviving dead threads :P

Hi,

Can I add a mPCIE ssd and use it for windows only? Without creating the rapid drive?

Or it's better to create a rapiddrive.

Thank you !

If you have a large (>32GB) and good quality (mostly intel) mSATA ( NOT mPCIE. The two only share the same plug, but have different wiring)., then put the entire operating system on it. Rapiddrive has software overhead and it's simpler and thus faster to have windows on the SSD and data files on the hard drive.
