Lenght of repair process...

2013-02-17, 12:01 PM
Is there any official policy of Lenovo how long should take a repair? I have been waiting for getting back my Y560 for 5 weeks. I sent my notebook back because of a keyboard problem. Then about 2 weeks ago I got the info they are going to replace the keyboard and the new spare parts just arrived. But since then another 2 weeks past... and still nothing. Every time when I called them they just asked for more/another 2-3days without any further explanation. So should not be some final deadline for finishing a simple keyboard replacement??? Five weeks for this seems to be completly unacceptable...

there's no policy afaik, they can keep it as long as they like. I used to wait for my old Y550 being repaired for over 6 weeks.

I wish there was a guarantee. I'm currently at 6 weeks for a touch pad defect that was shipped with my y500. There really should be some rethinking on how repair depots handle cases as I was getting little to no information about repairs for weeks and that was on inquiry not on the online updates. It is unacceptable, I kept getting the same kind of vague explanations you are talking about. See if you can get customer relations involved.

Same here, CMA -- Same computer, same problem.  Only difference is slightly shorter time.  I'm coming up on 4 weeks.  HOWEVER, there was some good news today: When I checked my repair status, I saw that the machine had been repaired and will supposedly soon be shipped back to me.  Maybe they finally got the new touch pads in.  About time....

Hope you get your system back soon too.  This has been absurd.  I think we're far from the only ones experiencing this.

No you're not. The whole customer service experience at Lenovo so far has been absolutely abhorrent! If it wouldn't been that Best Buy or any other retailer had a Y580, I would have completely avoided this disaster.

I would love to see a statistic by country about the length of the repair process.

If this statistic could be updated from the forum, samples could get in fast ...

As I am waiting for 2 weeks to get my Y580 back, it would help me to get an idea about what will happen.

Hi jens2
I am not sure about other countries, but i got my laptop repaired in time and once before time in India(New Delhi<Capital city>). Usually the service is good here.

Eh... Still nothing. And today the call center guy said he could not find my notebook in the database and he think it was never in their service... :-D
Tomorrow I will call them again...
