hi LumLamaxhema

Welcome to the Forums.

Can you try these steps:

1. Set the Y50-70's power plan to High Performance

2. Temporarily disable Bluetooth in the Device manager.

    - Sample image

3. Uncheck the Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power setting in the  Wi-Fi card's properties

   - Sample image

4. Disable U-ASPD (Wi-Fi power saving mode) and set the roaming aggresiveness to lowest.

   - Sample image

   - Sample image

5. If you're connected in the 5Ghz band and you have obstructions between your room and the Wi-Fi Access Point, try setting the router to broadcast both 2.4Ghz - 802.11n and 5Ghz 802.11AC and switch to the 2.4Ghz band and observe.

6. Check this thread for more tips.

After doing the above steps, open a command prompt and try to do a continuous ping to a site (e.g., google) and observe if the signal still drops.

Let me know how it goes.

Neo i have tried all of those things the problem is that when im away from the router it dosent connect or show the wireless at all if im close to it it works perfect, that happens to every router that i try, even if it works with my router at home i need the laptop outside my house because i take it with me all the time for work and by that im in different places cant config all routers where ever i go... When i updated bios this problem started to happen but in my opinion bios dosent got nothing to do with the wireless and yes the wifi is turned on in bios setup..Im strrugling with this problem for like almost 2 weeks now trying to fix it everyday and no luck at all and i cant do any work with the laptop.. only if im at home and im not at home almost all day...

hi there,

Have you tried to use inSSIDer or similar tool to determine the best possible Wi-Fi channel in your area?

How to Use Inssider to Determine a Channel for Your WiFi Router

hi there,

If one of the Windows Updates caused the issue then doing either a System Restore (to a prvious date where the Wi-Fi card was functioning properly) or a System Recovery (via the OneKey Recovery Button) will definitely bring the functionality back

Note:

Ensure that you backup important files though as doing a System Recovery will wipe all data on the OS partition).

2015-05-13, 15:40 PM

I have Lenovo Y50-70 Uhd,Windows 8.1 and it has Intel Dual Band Ac-7260 which i want to replace it with another card because the Intels dosent work and either Lenovo or Intel cant tell me the solution to fix it... So i want to know which cards are compatible with Lenovo Y50-70 Uhd that works well and dosent got problems, not like Intels crap card that you cant fix in a life time..

If any one could tell me the compatible wireless cards i would be so thankful :)

Hi,

I moved this new post over here, because you were already engaged by a support specialist.

Here is your Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM). On page 91, item number 12, you will find all the approved cards for your system.

http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/lenovo_y40_50_series_hmm.pdf

If you want a new card, make sure it passes the whitelist, and has a Lenovo FRU.

By the way, the card you already have in your system, should be the best available in the whitelist. It could be a hardware issue, and you should contact Lenovo hardware support,

Cheers
