Lenovo Y510P Laptop Screen Flicker

2017-03-17, 22:33 PM

So I have been having to deal with a screen flicker for the last 2 - 3 months. The issue is that whenever it's in a certain position, the laptop will not flicker at all. But the moment move the screen to close or open, it will start to have a red screen flicker, full or partly. Here is my laptop:

My guess is that the LCD Cable is loose. What do you think is the problem?

I replaced the LCD Panel a year ago because of screen flicker, but the flickering was much different and like this:

Hi there, Majestick     -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Did you try with external display? Possibly something loose under the lcd, could be an lcd cable.

Please got through this HMM & re-seat the Lcd cable to check if issue persist. However, i would recommend contacting Lenovo service centres and applying the normal phone techniques to get it replaced promptly or assist you further.

I got mine fixed by sending the notebook in for motherboard swap.

Lenovo mother is not good quality or their percentage of havig solid non failing motherboard rate seems very low.

Try other things but before you completely destroy your notebook, try to call them for motherboard replacement if you are under warranty.

All I can say is that my flicker problem fixed after the motherboard replacement. However, I still do get flickering one or twice thesedays...
