Lenovo Y510P Restarting Issue, HELP!

2014-08-15, 18:43 PM

I need some help as soon as possible please, because i may need to return it. It seems to restart and take longer tha usual whenever this happens. This occurs whenever i move the laptop, now just completely randomly. I would like to fix this problem because laptops are ment to be portable, and with this i can't move it places easily. I have taken out the battery can cleaned it up a little, but the problem persists. I am not sure what to do, or how to fix this. I went into Event Logs (The event manager of windows 8) and it says "Kernel-Power Error 41". I looked up possible causes, and it said a shoratge of some king in the battery, a problem with the hard drive, or a problem with the RAM. If you guys can help me fix this problem i would appreciate it ALOT. Thank you!

Boot in to "Safe Mode" see if problem persists.

Your best off sending back or sending it to Lenovo for repairs.

Have you made sure your ALL your drivers are up to date?

Use advanced system care's "Driver booster" to check this, you can get a pro key from youtube.

You might need to do a fresh install of windows, from the same pc, not via USB like last time.

Lenovo y510p restart issue

2014-08-15, 19:38 PM

Okay, I have a lenovo y510p and it restarts randomly all the time and I get the "Kernel-Power error 41". But when i tried to boot into safe mode it no longer restarted, so my question is: how do I find the cause of this problem in safe mode? Thank you guys!

Hi dagentlebreeze,

Can you try Settings the Power Option to High Performance and see if that will stop the Restarts,

If you cannot change it under Normal Mode, Boot it on safemode and change the settings.

If the system is ok It might be a Driver or a start up programs and services.

Let me know your findings

Cheers!
