Yes, all the above processors are compatible with your systems. Check you Lenovo Energy Management settings. Maybe you run it on Battery saver?

Update us how it goes.

Hi there, Jostik          -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

If it's Intel gm45, you can upgrade to t6670. (Not t6600)

compatible cpus for gm45 :

intel® core™2 extreme processor qx9300 (12m cache, 2.53 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor t9800 (6m cache, 2.93 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor t9900 (6m cache, 3.06 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor p9500 (6m cache, 2.53 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor p9600 (6m cache, 2.66 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor p9700 (6m cache, 2.80 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor t9550 (6m cache, 2.66 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor t9600 (6m cache, 2.80 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor t9400 (6m cache, 2.53 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor p8800 (3m cache, 2.66 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor p8600 (3m cache, 2.40 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor p8700 (3m cache, 2.53 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor p8400 (3m cache, 2.26 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® celeron® processor 575 (1m cache, 2.00 ghz, 667 mhz fsb)
intel® celeron® processor t1600 (1m cache, 1.66 ghz, 667 mhz fsb)
intel® celeron® processor t3500 (1m cache, 2.10 ghz, 800 mhz fsb)
intel® celeron® processor 585 (1m cache, 2.16 ghz, 667 mhz fsb)
intel® celeron® processor 900 (1m cache, 2.20 ghz, 800 mhz fsb)
intel® celeron® processor 925 (1m cache, 2.30 ghz, 800 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor p7570 (3m cache, 2.26 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® celeron® processor t1700 (1m cache, 1.83 ghz, 667 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 duo processor t6670 (2m cache, 2.20 ghz, 800 mhz fsb)
intel® celeron® processor t3100 (1m cache, 1.90 ghz, 800 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 extreme processor x9100 (6m cache, 3.06 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)
intel® core™2 quad processor q9100 (12m cache, 2.26 ghz, 1066 mhz fsb)

But why upgrading processor? It will only give you benefit in video transcoding/compiling code/archiving - other tasks will not benefit.

Update us how it goes.

Thanks for the reply! I can only put T6670? Or any of the list? I'm sorry, I write through the online translator. (perhaps that is not clear) I decided to put ssd + 8gb of RAM + new processor is all that is available to me. It is not, what else can I replace to increase performance?

Hello - how did your updates go? I'm looking into upgrading my Y550, in hopes it can run smoothly by today's standards.

I use my PC mainly for basic Excel spreadsheets, TurboTax, and occassional web browsing.
