All,

You aren't abandoned on this...there are still ongoing discussions with development and I don't believe we have a final answer yet.  I'll share updates once we have a decision.

Mark

Re: Y560 Future BIOS Wish List

2010-12-04, 5:18 AM

I don't feel comfortable having to "get used to it" when I use a computer. Frankly, the Fn button placement is a complete annoyance. For instance, I am constantly making cut/paste mistakes because of the unconventional placement of the key. Since I use several other computers, there is no "getting used to it."

It's just a stupid thing some engineer thought looked good on paper.

Why not switch the A and S keys too, and "get used to it" too?

It's been like that on ThinkPads since the early 90's, so I would hardly call it "a stupid thing some engineer thought looked good on paper".

Why is this thread marked "SOLVED"...the only way to solve the problem is to void your warranty?  Am I right in being very confused that a Mod would suggest that you should void your warranty?

I didn't mark it solved. I assume that leshcat who was the original poster marked it because it was an answer, of sorts, to his question.
