I think the two programs the OP mentioned in his first post are missing:

- Lenovo EE Boot Optimizer
- Intelligent Touchpad

Yes, those two programs/drivers are not part of any of the downloadable drivers that you provided.

Also, are those drivers the ones from support.lenovo? If so, I tried them all already. I also tried the ones from the recovery partition that I burned. I'm getting the same error messages when trying to reinstall veriface, youcam and rapid startup.

EE Boot Optimizer and Intelligent Touchpad are currently missing.

Thanks for the file.

Unfortunately, it does not install. It states 'Lenovo EE Boot Optimizer can only be installed onto a Lenovo computer.'

I imagine that this issue, along with all the other issues I have been having in reinstalling programs/drivers, is because I reinstalled the OEM from a non-lenovo OEM copy).

Do I have to wait for the recovery disk for the Y580 to be available, or will/are you guys able to provide programs/drivers that will be able to be installed onto my new Y580?

Re: Lenovo Y580 Re-Installing Issues

2012-07-30, 2:36 AM

I am not sure if I should start another discussion chain but this looks close enough for me to post my question.

I got a Y580 then replace the HD to a SSD. I installed Win-7 64 bits and after that all the drivers I could find from the Lenovo web site. So far there is no problem but I haven't check everything yet and the system is stable.

I check the device manager and found there were two devices that are not enable/running.

I do not know what they are but had managed to capture some details:

SM Bus Controller

Location:  PCI bus 0, device 31, function 3

Hardware id:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&SUBSYS_397717AA&REV_04

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&SUBSYS_397717AA

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&CC_0C0500

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&CC_0C05

Compatible Ids:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&REV_04

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22

PCI\VEN_8086&CC_0C0500

PCI\VEN_8086&CC_0C05

PCI\VEN_8086 PCI\CC_0C0500

PCI\CC_0C05

ConfigFlags:

00000040

CONFIGFLAG_FAILEDINSTALL

Physical Device Object name:

\Device\NTPNP_PCI0013

*****************************************

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller

Location: PCI bus 0, device 20, function 0

Hardware Ids:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&SUBSYS_397717AA&REV_04

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&SUBSYS_397717AA

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&CC_0C0330

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&CC_0C03

Compatible Ids:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&REV_04

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31

PCI\VEN_8086&CC_0C0330

PCI\VEN_8086&CC_0C03

PCI\VEN_8086 PCI\CC_0C0330

PCI\CC_0C03

ConfigFlags:

00000040

CONFIGFLAG_FAILEDINSTALL

Physical Device Object name:

\Device\NTPNP_PCI0003

Can someone help me to identify them and if possible what drivers I would need to enable them?

Many thanks.

Best regards,

Sonic2012

flappy84, maybe the last step in this post would work for you (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-S-series-Netbooks/Boot-optimizer-s205/td-p/418725)?

I tried that, using compatability mode for Windows 7. Same error message.

Flappy

İf i was having this problem,i would play it safe and do it the right way,

No short cuts!!

İ would wait for the Recovery discs for your model to arrive.

İ assume that you ordered them.

Right?

That way you won't have to worry, about anything else cropping up in the future.

That's my thinking anyway.
