Lenovo Y740 Screen issue

Few months ago I updated drivers for my Lenovo Y740 laptop.  Few days after I noticed that my screen started to flicker time to time.  It kept getting worse to the point now every time when I turn on the laptop the screen flickers.  Only way to get rid of this is to restart the computer and the issue goes away entirely.  Not sure if this is a screen issue or driver issue.  Here's a clip of what I'm seeing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Would you mind clarifying what drivers were used to update the display of your machine?

Were they from Lenovo's support site?

 

Can you also try to uninstall the display drivers and reboot the machine to try and resolve the issue?

I used Lenovo website to scan the computer and installed the drivers it recommended.  After that I've been having this issue.

Can you try opening the BIOS and checking if the display is also acting up there?

While in BIOS the screen is fine.   But once back in desktop the flickering is back.  Only way to get rid of it is to restart...

Thanks for the update.


It might be possible that this is either an issue with the driver or the gpu.

Can you try switching between Hybrid and Discrete mode using Lenovo vantage?


Once this is done observe the display on both modes to see which one gives you the issue.
