Lenovo Z510 Random SHUT DOWN ON BATTERY

I am using Lenovo Z510( Intel i5 ,4gb Ram , 1TB HDD with 8gb SSHD , Windows 8.1, 1gb graphic) from last 7 months , but from last two weeks it has been randomly shutting down without warning on battery. Battery indicator always showing 99% or 100%, but after RANDOM shut down when i connect it to power source battery indicator shows 0% . Sometimes it also shows " 0% (Plugged In , Not Charging )" status.

 

please suggest me solutions.

This problem is being experienced by a lot of people but we have not gotten an answer for it yet. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a response.

Does the battery indicator always show 99% or 100% even after being used for a while?

My battery has since died and says weak battery it has to be replaced and gives me a link to buy one, the laptop will not power on unless the adapter is plugged in. I have sent an email off to Lenovo support because I was supposed to be sent out a returns label over 3 weeks ago  to get this fixed under warranty and it didn't arrive, the emails I have sent have so far gone unanswered also. I am getting very frustrated with this problem.

Can you send me the following in a private message:

 

  • Full Name
  • Address
  • Contact Telephone
  • Email
  • Serial Number
  • Any previous case numbers that service has given you.

 

With this info and can reach out locally to the UK Team and find out the reason for the delay.

I need an answer to this, this is utter bull**bleep**, that there is no solution posed by the lenovo support staff, Having so many problems with this laptop, extremely disappointed after shelling out so much money to buy this fraking laptop!

Hi Migual,
I had the issue like it suddenly charge drops from 70% to 0% without any prior notification.
And after i gave the laptop to service center, it shows 99% always and suddenly shutsdown.
Still the service people cant identify the issue properly
and they need the laptop for atleast 3 days to identify the problem.

My laptop is still under warranty

Hi,

I called up the service centre and they agreed to replace my battery. Still I have not heard back from them.

Options:

1) Run  powercfg /batteryreport in command prompt.This will generate a report of your battery in C drive user folder.

2) Check status of the battery in Energy Manager

 

Send both the reports to the customer care. Hopefully it should help. All the best..!!

The enery manager shows "Normal" but still the problem exists.

 

And thanks for the powercfg cmd it shows exactly the problem 100% to 0% or -%.

 

Sent the email to customerts@lenovo.com

 

they said they need to take the remote access and i accepted but no response after then.
