Lenovo Z70 Monitor Display Issue

2016-11-30, 22:26 PM

Today I opened up my laptop and noticed that there was a contrast on my monitor that persisted through all of my programs. I tried some simple troubleshooting techniques, but nothing seemed to fix this problem. I also couldn't find any solutions online. My warranty ran out last September, so I don't think I'll be able to send in my laptop for repairs. I'm hoping there might be some sort of software fix to this issue, so nobody had to go fiddling around inside the actual hardware to fix this. The only other options I can see are to send my computer in to a local repair shop, or just wait and hope the problem fixes itself.

My computer isn't totally unusable, but it is highly annoying and constantly visually distracting. Hopefully someone on here can provide any insight on how to fix this problem.

Hi quinlan555 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

To isolate more on the display issue , try to check if the same contrast exit on safe mode and also using an external monitor to compare . Using a mobile phone camera and printscreen capture to compare the images can also help determine if the issue is with data or with actual hardware display.

History of events when it started can also help find the fault of failure as such may be resolved by system restore for drivers or configurations issue specially if color / gamma / brightness steps have been tried..

Update us how it goes.

Regards

So using PrtSc doesn't work to highlight the issue , so I took a picture with my cell phone like you said. The brighter left side sometimes flickers, so I am highly certain that this is a hardware issue. Hopefully this image helps more than the last one.

HI quinlan555 ,

Greetings.

Capturing the image on printscreen gives the data output that may appear normal or non conclusive .

With the image captured on phone camera , does conclude probable LCD hardware display issue and would be most likely be the same as the BIOS but fine on an external monitor.

Call in technical support and allow them to see this image we have on the post specially if there are no history of accidental damage so that proper service be done soon as possible.

Regards
