Hi Chincheeken

If you have an SLI system and you are facing crashing issues then what you need to do is a clean install of the GPU drivers. My recommendation would be -

1) Switch off your laptop. Disconnect all power supply including battery.
2) Remove the ultrabay GPU then start it.
3) Once restarted, the Intel drivers should get installed automatically.
4) Go to Control Panel >> Device manager >> Display and uninstall the GT755 GPU.
5) Then go to Control panel >> Programs & Features and uninstall everything related to NVIDIA.
6) Now, restart the system.
7) Upon restart your system should try to install the GT755 drivers automatically (may take 5 min and screen may go black).
8) IF NOT, then download and install NVIDIA drivers manually from their website. (There is a known issue with their HD Audio drivers, so I would recommend a custom install and de-select those drivers).

Also, I would recommend downloading and installing driver version 335.23

9) After installing the drivers, play a game and make sure everything is smooth.
10) Now, shutdown the system, remove all power supply and battery and insert the ultrabay GPU again.
11) Boot up the system, your ultrabay GPU drivers should be installed automatically.

If you face problem in any step, please let me know exactly which step.

******** This solution has helped many people on this forum. I hope it works for you as well.

Can you please test running your games with only one GPU.

Take out the Ultrabay and run the games after that. Lets see if the games still crash.

Re: Lenovo ideapad Y510p SLI Crashing

Hi! I'm having the same problem with my laptop. This began after I updated the Nvidia driver. Downgrades give no effect. Even though i've performed all those steps, the second card is not showing in the Geforce Experience nor in the Nvidia Control Panel. In other hand, it's visible in the Device manager. Although when I remove the ultrabay card, an Intel HD graphics activates, games run with same FPS, but not even close to the original state, when SLI worked.

Thanks for your attention. Waiting for you reply.

download msi afterburner  and slide the clocks at leats 1MHz down (left) , this worked for me with drivers crashing ,  you can slide all values to the very  left, it seems that there is no affect on performance, but it keeps the drivers from crashing

For all who have problem with sli crash, after 1 year investigate, look on the smart log of your HDD via some program. I did it and End-To-End error detection (it is something between cache and disk), I changed HDD and no crash no throttling,  just one game crash and it is witcher 3 but it is probably unstable game).

Re: Lenovo ideapad Y510p SLI Crashing

I've had this laptop for a few years and I've always had this problem. I only really started to notice when GTAV came out. Fallout 4 is unplayable because of how frequent the crashes happen. It seems like it crashes more at lower resolutions.

Can anyone help?

Well, i really can't find any solution already about this issue. But one thing that is weird if you unplug the sli ultrabay and game using only the single GT755M on board it will game just fine. However, if you plug in the SLI Ultrabay graphics it would significantly improve the FPS in game although you didn't enable the SLI in nvidia panel. This is what i find out so far. Once you enable the SLI in nvidia panel your game will just start to CRASH :(
