@leshcat,

Engineering has not provided a tentative date on the release of the drivers or tips, however I am sure to notify everyone once I get an update from them on this.

The Lenovo service changed my Y560A's bad display to a new one. This one type is : B156XW03 V1. Anyone have an experience with this model? Those d..n "ants around the edges" are here too....

Can i send back to the service again?

ps: One more question : whats the refresh rate of the y560a's screen?

ps2: there are lot of thread about the crap Optronics displays on the web. This problems because of the bad display quality it cant be solve with a new bios version. Question for the Lenovo staff: what can we do?

Hello everyone and thanks for all the contributions about the Y560 Lenovo display quality.

I am however still considering getting a Sandy Bridge system on the newer modified Lenovo Y560p (2630QM Sandy Bridge, Radeon HD6570) and I would very much appreciate some feedback on the LED-backlit screen in that model and some other things.

1. Any direct experiences with the Y560p model in relation to display quality?

2. Are the display quality related problems (ants around edges, bad gradients etc.) different on this model?

3. How are the viewing angles on this model?

4. Who manufactured the display on this model?

6. How is the HDMI output?

Many thanks!

Hey guys, I just recently received my Y560 - 06463PU and from the get-go have been experiencing corrupt graphics while gaming. Problems like tearing of image (i have tried Vertical Sync, did not solve problem) and  frozen or black screens (massive drop in fps) are guaranteed. After about 5-10secs game will either resume or i'll get an "AMD driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered."....these problem occur in games like Starcraft2, Leage of Legends and Vindictus. I noticed for Starcraft 2 if i were to set the Shader setting to low-medium it reduces the tearing of image significantly....but obviously this laptop was not bought to play games on low-medium settings with graphical errors.

I'm currently on BIOS 30CN59WW. For the video driver I've experienced the problem with both the factory 8.752 driver and the latest 8.801 driver.

So my question is...is this a BIOS/Video Driver update problem? Or would I need to send my laptop back for repair?

Thanks!

Such problems are usually related to vga overheating, memory block failures or generally vga hardware errors. You can many times hear people suggesting to "update drivers", but from my long-term support experience it's very probably bad hardware anyway.

Definitely can't be overheating issues - been using the coolmaster notepal infinite laptop cooler.

Where did you get the 8.801? Is that the ATI 10.12?
