Re: New y510p sli card not detected

I appreciate the advice YNagato. I believe I will try the eBay route and see if I can get a gt750m that route. How much did you end up paying? It seems that the cards are more expensive on eBay, but I'll probably try and sell the one I have to make up the difference. I just wish the ultra bay was supported the way it was advertised, with accessories.

it cost me a fortune ($199). Right now there is an auction on ebay and the bidding price so far is $96, which looks like a good deal.

Re: New y510p sli card not detected

Greetings,

Could someone please update me on purchasing a second 750m card? May we purchase from Lenovo or are they still selling incorrect cards?

I tried reading through the 50 odd pages of this thread, but I am unsure which information is current or true.

Thank you.

They stopped selling any ultrabay cards a while back, they are EOL.

Okay, so i bought a Y510p (Single card gt750m version) a little less than a year ago..and very recently decided to buy a second ultrabay gpu (GT750M5 with the 170 power cable)...I also received the message "Unauthorized Slave VGA card plugged in-please power off and remove"...

Okay, so i bought a Y510p (Single card gt750m version) a little less than a year ago..and very recently decided to buy a second ultrabay gpu (GT750M5 with the 170 power cable)...Just like the few others who wrote of this situation I received the message "Unauthorized Slave VGA card plugged in-please power off and remove"...

My warranty expires in 16 days and i have no idea what i should do..Did i basically just spend a couple hundred dollars on a fancy paperweight (second gpu) and useless power cable... or has this problem been resolved yet? In addition I am currently a student and cannot just send my laptop in to be fixed or replaced...i don't believe I should have to go through all of that.

I did read the majority of the thread and coud not figure out whether or not there was a fix or solid solution..

I wish i had found this thread before making the purchase but i was under the impression that i could just buy a second ultrabay that matched the original one in the laptop and plug it in (as it was implied)..

Even if you have already recieved a new laptop or given up on this problem..any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

I have that same issue. My warranty expired while i was deployed and i am still having this issue. I called Lenovo and there tech support said they would refer me to a customer relations person and gave me a case number. I have had the computer since like Nov 2013 and was just hoping for a solution and there still isnt one. I am hoping they just send me a new computer with SLI and i can send them the one i have. Still waiting for my 24- 72 hour call window. First day down with no phone call. If i have to pay that extra $80 I will.
