It's in the lower right corner in a slot under the bottom cover.

That is. correct, the percentage means it's working. Because it is just cache, you should be able to see it as a drive.

As for the performance indexing, I was wondering the same about my score, it didn't change when I installed mine either.

Re: Plead for help with Y500 Rapid Storage drive cache

OK this is WEIRD--please help!

I just got a scratch/dent Lenovo Y500.  Aside from the crazy track pad at the very first bootup...   I'm noticing that each reboot takes at least 45 seconds...!  That's to just get to the sign in screen...!  I read on reviews that it should only take like 19 seconds because of the cache drive.  My Y500 has a 24GB cache drive which shows up as D:/LENOVO in My Computer.........

The crazy thing is though that when I do the test in Command Prompt (as administrator) as outlined in the link from the previous page (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=HT074404) it shows a percentage for both read/write.....so my ExpressCache is apparently working properly.......

So why does my i7 high end laptop not seem much faster at all in most applications (sometimes slower...?!) than my Sony i5 - 1.7ghz Ultrabook?   It's definitely a lot faster for applications like Photoshop and Lightroom....and games, but what's going on?    I can even drag and drop files into the D:/ drive.  What seems to be slowing down the computer is when I look at task manager even when I just start the computer, the C: D: drive.....is being used up at like 100% or something... up to 10MB/sec.........

Am I just experiencing this because I've only restarted the computer less than 10 times?  Is it "building up" a cache of my frequently used programs?

:(    Thanks

Hi
The express cache should work as soon as the computer starts. It's weird if it doesn't work. And the showing up of msata ss in my computer signifies that the express cache is not working.
At this stage, either you can reconstruct the cache as in this link
http://support.lenovo.com/es_EC/downloads/detail.page?DocID=HT074404
or try to do one key recovery or contact lenovo to fix it for you.
Hope this helps

I think that the 100% HDD reading when you load your PC ir normal, since the system is loading all your startup apps...

About the reebot time... It's that slow when you restart it only? How about when you boot it up from a shutdown?
