hmm, this bios may have resolved the actual problem but with this come two more, which are again associated with battery mode:

1. the cpu sometimes fails to hit turbo and doesn't go beyond my maximum clock speed which would 2.5Ghz (it would be 3.05Ghz with turbo)

2. if you resume this system after a sleep then the cpu would get stuck at full frequency sometimes including turbo and sometimes without it...

And as always these resolve after a restart or connecting a power cable..

Could you all check if these are common to all or if it is only me who is facing...?

Hey lknaidu, can you give me a reliable way to test the maximum frequency of my processor (I have an i7 4700MQ).  How are you doing it.   I was using prime95 and testing one thread, and I get 3.34 GHz everytime (it should be 3.4).  Let me know your thoughts.

@jhorton328

3.34Ghz might be with all cores active.. u would get 3.4ghz if only 1 core is active.. mostly there is a bios setting which enables/disables multi core operation...

The variation of single core operation with all cores active would be roughly around 0.05Ghz ...

So, I think 3.34Ghz shouldn't bother you

I noticed something funny in bios 8DCN39WW.

When I want to put the notebook in standby I just close the lid.

On bios 8DCN37WW I had to open the lid and press the power button to resume from standby (S3).

On bios 8DCN39WW I only have the open the lid and the notebook turn on by itself.

That's a nice feature they added :)

I did some testing here and I am not able to reproduce the issues you are having.  I don't typically use sleep, but i have tried sleep for testing.  So what power settings are you using?  I typically run with the 'balanced' setting in lenovo power management.

Also, after deploying the new bios, I have not noticed that annoying issue where 'Conservation Mode' for the battery turns off randomly.
