I had access yesterday to two Y50s but neither of their fans were making any sort of clicking noise, so I'm still looking for a machine to borrow. Please PM me.

Re: Y50 Big fan pulsating and clicking

Hello,

I bought the same model last saturday (18.10.2014) and it has the same problem. Got it from Iasi (Romania).

You may find below the model details:

http://www.flanco.ro/laptop-lenovo-y50-70-procesor-intel-core-i7-4710hq-memorie-8gb-512gb-ssd-geforce-gtx-860m-4gb-negru.html

Operating system: Windows 8.1

Also, there is another issue with the grafic drivers. I'm able to instal them only when I rebooting the system in "safe mode" (Ge_force drivers latest release). Is this normal or there is a problem in between?

Thanks in advance & Best regards.

Victor

Re: Y50 Big fan pulsating and clicking

Hello,

I'm back again with more details, hope this will help you...

So model details: Lenovo Y50-70

       model name: 20378

          Factory ID: PRC4

           MFG date:14/08/2014

                     MO: CB04081430

                   MTM: 59432210

                     S/N: xxxxx

                    Bios: 1.13

       Nvidia driver: 344.48

1. the very first issue I had - video drivers for Geforce GTX860m for windows 8.1. It just doesn't allow me to instal them. Even manually it shows me that the driver was not properly installed "error 28". By restarting the windows in safe mode the driver will install succesfully.

2. the clicking noise appears mainly after the install of nvidia video drivers (which I'm able to instal only in safe mode)

I believe that it is caused by windows, which finally turn the part_device (GTX860M) - ON.

I hope this will help you some how.

Regards,

Victor
