Recovery Disk & OneKey Problem in Y550

2009-10-08, 23:30 PM

my vista won't boot, theres message "windows failed to starts,..... . . . ."

and I installed XP as alternative.

I tried to use the recovery disk, but OneKey Rescue System say there is not enough space.

I have shrink my C: partittion before.

Then i inserted the 1st recovery disk to my brother laptop, and i opened it with 7zip. I see file with extension .xml. and i open it with notepad, theres a text, "partition size
<218764140>..........." maybe that is my partition size when i created the recovery disk. I checked my C: properties and the size is 208629741. I tried to change my C: partition size, with Gparted live. But after all, i couldn't make it really same with 218764140 cause gparted just can resize the partition in 6 digit.

Then i planned to modify that recovery disk (the boot.wim file). I downloaded WAIK 2.0 and ImageX GUI. boot.wim mounted and i didn't see that .xml. I go to wim information tab in ImageX GUI, i see that its same with text in file with .xml that i saw before with 7zip.

Is there Anyone knows? How to modify .wim file Informations?

I really need help cause i didn't have any others CD/DVD.
