Same problem - Solved!

2020-04-07, 17:09 PM

I had the same problem. Camera image did not show up in any program.

Fix it by going to Lenovo Vantage - Media (under system tools) - turn "Camera privacy tools" to OFF.

I tried to follow these instructions > Fix it by going to Lenovo Vantage - Media (under system tools) - turn "Camera privacy tools" to OFF. I went into Lenovo Vantage could not find Media under system tools. I wend to Devices- My Device Settings and there is a tab for Camera but does nothing. Any help or suggestions to offer?

Re:SOLVED!! Built-in Camera not working

Help!  I just received my new Idea Pad S 340 with Windows 10 installed.  Unfortunately, the installed camera doesn't work.  It constantly displays a black screen with a glowing red ball in the bottom left of the screen.  (See attachment)  I tried the F8 solution, although the device manager shows the camera installed and working;  I tried updating drivers;  I tried turning on and off privacy controls.  Nothing has worked.  Any advice?  Obviously it is on warranty.  Could it be a hardware issue?

Thanks...

I show no imaging devices in the menu. "Troubleshoot" doesn't bring up a menu that includes "hardware and devices".

There is this keyboard shortcut in the Fn keys to enable/disable webcam. I guess never enabled it. For me on Y530, it was Fn+F10.

If all else fails it might be a hardware issue.   Try to press the frame near the camera for 10 seconds.  This seems to work for a number of people, at least temporarily.
