Switching between Nvidia and Intel onboard Graphics!!!

2014-04-01, 19:33 PM

Hi guys ,

After having some issues with graphic driver in Win 8 . i decided to downgrade to WIN 7  did legacy install i mean i had disabled uefi boot  succesfully repartiotioned and installed windows 7.

Now the driver issue still persists and i believe this might be my graphic card problem. But when I was using  WIN 8 i could switch between graphic cards intel and nvidia from device manger disabling nvidia.

But in WIN 7 it only recognized the third party nvida GPU and cannot detect intel one. Now i want to switch back to intel so that i wont be experiencing abrupt  hangs in the laptop. But I cannot find this option in my UEFI boot menu  :/ . This is really pissing me off i had sacriviced OKR feature downgrading  and now i cant switch to onboard graphics aswell .

Tried to install intel drivers but shows a prompt saying "your system doesnot meet minimum requirements "

could someone help me from this situation .

best,
shashi

Can you try installing Win 7 in UEFI mode? See this guide for the requirements. According to that guide it must be Win 7 64bit which should be similar to the original which is Win 8 64bit .

Hi SMR_39

do you have the option to disable the Nividia one from the device manager

If yes, disable it and restart

Thanks

I tried to install it according to the guide .... but the setup is stuck at starting windows screen after detecting the usb uefi install .

I tried all the guides to install uefi win 7

just want to confirm one thing

All my hard disk are converted to GPT  / Even tried with MBR  using diskpart
even the usb drive is gpt  - used rufus   / even tried with MBR

also please tell me the correct config GPT or MBR for both usb and hard disk (should i create any partiton coz i just used clean and convert)

disabled default os (win 8)

dowloaded iso from digital river

I am out of options here . cant see my laptop as a brick .:/

Well guys this is so sad.

After spending days on my laptop trying to fix this I have found out that its impossible to install win 7 in uefi . I also tried to install Other Linux distros as well but same result it also detects only nvidia and sticks hangs after sometime .

Just wanted to confirm one thing my nvidia gt 650 m is it removable from laptop or is it attached to motherboard.
