This new Y580 Bios LENOVO 5DCN91WW V8.02 question??

2014-07-11, 23:09 PM

Can some point me in a direction to a readme file on this new bios.. OR look at the bios file and let

me know if there are any noticeable changes..  Mine is already flashed and i dont notice anything, but i wont notice until its an issue. Thats how it is supposed to be right?

BIOS file is here in a ROM:

I checked the Y580 support sight but the BIOS discussions are taboo here for some reason.

Moderator comment: Link to BIOS of unknown origin removed.

Yea thats the wrong white paper but thank you.

Thats Version Date 2012/11/08(v2.07) and i am at 2014/xx/xx (v8.02) This board is 1 week old.(refurbed by lenovo)

A guess would be it was somthing minor like wouldn't come out of sleep with HD xxxxxxx or drops a wifi signal

with card xxxxxxxx

I just wrote that unit off and gave it to my kid. I'm not gonna send it in for a KB light and function keys not working.

Its an IDEAPAD not a THINKPAD, i would send a TP in because i know from experience i would have it back in 5-8 days repaired, thats not the case with the ideapad line of computers and i dont want to tie this pc up for a month.

Also its not un-realistic for a bios flash to do that, some MFG have differant flash for light & unlight keyboards.

I would have liked the chance to reflash to see if that worked though.
