Re: Widespread Y560 Display Problem?

2010-08-06, 4:21 AM

Hello Mark,

I did have this problem while I was using the lastest graphics drivers from the website. They're very buggy however, so I installed the latest version from the ATi website. The problems exist with the new driver also. I also made sure that all my other drivers are up to date, just in case it might be one of them causing problems, but that didn't fix the problem.

On a side note, those graphics drivers on the website REALLY need to be updated. They have caused so many problems, which forced me to take the unofficial driver installation route. (The new drivers from the ATi website solve all of them, by the way. It's just that the installer doesn't work, and the drivers have to be extracted and installed manually. See the thread about the Big Cursor Bug if you're free.)

Hi Mark add me to the list...

The problems remeining for me are:

1. gradients (when conected to external display there is no problem, also I updated to the latest drivers but same problem so am using unofficial ATi drivers which are better)

2. ants around edges

Thank you for your time.

Hello everyone

I just bought lenovo y560 3 days ago and on the second day i noticed the dancing pixels. I then flashed my bios to .58 and that fixed the dancing pixels. I also installed the latest video card drivers from the support site and that seemed to do very little. Currently i'm left with ants around the edges and very bad gradients

I just though i should inform others of my current situation

Mak

Does anyone else have a problem with backlight unevenness?  I expect a full black screen to look like crap, but there is a really defined division between the LEDs at the bottom of the screen that are only truly invisible on a completely white screen.  Very annoying.  Like a bunch of little flashlights coming from the bottom.

And the full white screen looks almost as bad as the black.  The best way to describe it is subtly splotchy.  There is a noticeable darker area on the right 1/3 of the screen.  It's like a fist-sized grey area.  Very noticeable, very annoying.
