Y50-70 Ultra Wi-Fi Connection Issues

2015-05-11, 20:16 PM

Hello!

I recently bought a Lenovo y50-70 laptop with Windows 8.1, a 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4720HQ Processor (2.60GHz 1600MHz 6MB). Unfortunately, most of the Lenovo wifi issues I searched up online involved those with a 7260 processor and not the one I have so I don't know exactly what to do to fix it. I already downloaded the Wireless LAN Driver from Lenovo's website and it didn't seem to noticeably improve its wifi connection. Despite showing full bars with my wifi connection it takes very long to load up even just internet explorer or google. I know its my lenovo laptop's connection issues since my phone and my other work computer access the internet far faster and easier. For online games it often shifts me in and out of connection with Steam or League. Its only when I'm directly next to the modem or when I plug in an ethernet cable that it seems to stabilize its connection, are there any solutions that you guys can provide?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody? Even just a link to another thread I may have missed would work.

I would guess that you are connected through the 2.4Ghz band. If yes, there's something going on in this band at present which might not be on our end. Try using the 5Ghz band instead.

Thanks for the reply! Would this be something I would just change in my connection settings?

I had mine disconnecting, varying erratically the speed, since yesterday. Settings seems to not have any effect at all. You can try if you like.
