I too have the y510p with a single gt750m and a dvd drive in the ultrabay. I was looking to upgrade it to the SLI configuration.

Let me get this straight, lenovo advertised that we can upgrade this model with an ultrabay graphics card and when people bought the upgrade, it didn't work? and as far as I can see the card isn't even available in the online store anymore.

I can't begin to tell you how cheated I feel.

Things like this ask for legal action. What a scam.

Bascially that is what is happeneing. They did manage to admit that the cards didn't work (after 6 months) and they do have a fix for the problem but you have to send in your laptop to get it fixed. They aren't listing this anywhere (like on the Y510p support page) so there are a lot of people out there with non-working cards.

It would be nice if you could buy the GT750m5 in the US, but due to Lenovo's inability to do anything correctly, especially in the area of supporting the things they sell people, so far it seems impossible. After receiving the phone number which was suppose to be for the parts department from one of the 'Support Specialists' and getting repeatedly transferred to different departments that seemed to have no idea what they were doing, I gave up. The Y500 was the first and last Lenovo product I have bought, and well never suggest anyone to do the same. Incompetence seems to be Lenovo's greatest attribute.

AHHHH GOD!!!!!!  Wonder if I could bitch enough to get them to send me SLI version of y500.  Still I cant complain much about the laptop itself.  Single 750m isnt quite enough power...boo

Re: Y500 750m SLI Ultrabay sold seperatly?

One last note before I'm beginning to consider my next laptop. I was involved in many of these discussions in April/May of 2013. Many others and I had to deal with the fact that Lenovo took the Lenovo Y400 buyers "Back behind the wood shed" on failing to promise to make the GT750m5 graphics via Ultra Bay that they promised. Many found out after any possible chance to return they were stuck with the laptop. It accomplished what many thought, the Lenovo Y400 required 750 dollars to buy and within a few months you could see them posted on Ebay etc. for 550 or so and not selling. Just today I saw one on Ebay for 220 and it still wasn't selling. Basically its basics are so high that you can't just give it away so you kept it like I did and eventually the time period would pass for the next buy. Well that time is nearly upon me and as I promised in 2013 I would not buy a Lenovo. Many others will be considered but not a Lenovo.
