Y500 Display/ Desktop Color settings Windows 8.1

2014-03-14, 6:25 AM

Hi,

I have recently updated my Y500 with Nvidia 750M Laptop to Windows 8.1. After the update i am having some difficulty setting the correct color settings and trying to find out what should be the proper color settings.

Just to let you know -

In Windows 8.1 some of the apps like chrome looks blurry, so for them i have disabled the Display Scaling On High DPI Settings. So that is ok now and looks clear.

I cant really change the windows DPI setting. I tried to set it to 100% but that is too small for a 15" display.

I am attaching the Windows and Nvidia color management setting that i am using. Even though in my Nvidia control panel the setting is checked to "Other application control color settings" but still it is using Nvidia color setting.

So if anybody could help me providing suitable color setting for Y500 for Windows 8.1 that would be really helpful.

The above settings were also not good so changed to almost default settings with little bit of high Digital Vibrance. My brightness from the Keybord around 50%.

Still same photoes in this laptop and in my S3/Apply Macbook Pro looks very different. The livelyness is not there in this laptop.

I used these 2 links for calibration.

Hi,

In Windows 8.1 bluring is a problem and Microsoft has given that sollution that you menioned in the link. So for me I already have changed the DPI. I changed it to 125%. I cant make it 100% as in 15.6" screen the lettrs become so small that some of them cane be read.

MS Solution:- http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-windows_update/windows-81-update-blurred-fonts-how-to-fix/22720d9f-a0db-4351-b48e-0d235c0348a0

This can fix the blurr but my problem is correct color settings and brightness which will not hurt eyes and display proper quality of picture.

This is my settings.
