Y510 and the IR Port under XP: Is it usable to anyone?

2008-10-17, 22:31 PM

All,

I can't find anything in the XP Hardware Device Manager that corresponds to the IR port on the front of my Y510.

Does this mean that it isn't recognized an an IRDA port, suitable for use for syncing with my PDA?

Thanks,

Warr

The IR port in Y510 can only be used for receiving signals from the Lenovo media remote (and occasionally IR signals from other remotes). It can't be used for other purposes such as syncing and stuff.

Me too.

Anyone figure out how to disable this thing?  It's driving me (and my wife) nuts.  Every time we press any button on our TV/Media Center remote, it causes a ctrl-f on the laptop.  ARRGGG.
