Drives and RAM are usually considered user replaceable components.

If the cover is for HDD only, then it should be OK to open it. Are there ANY warranty seals on it? On my Y580 I had only one seal, which was inside the laptop on the mainboard. I didn't have any seals on the laptops body.

Covers separately for HDD not. It is necessary to completely remove the back cover of the notebook. No warranty seals on the outside. Maybe they are inside?

hi,

As far as i know, Y510p doesn't have a HDD/RAM lid on the back. You need to take the whole back cover to make a change, and your pc will not be under warranty anymore.

I'm not going to change the HDD. I'll put in an extra slot ngff SSD drive. Warranty annulled because of the opening of the cover?

I called the Lenovo service center in my country. They said that the warranty will not be lost, if I will install SSD by myself.
