If you ordered the model with the Hydrid SSHD (8 GB SSHD) then Lenovo does not include the M.2. slot on the motherboard so you are out of luck, sorry. Only models that come with the 24 SSD have the M.2. slot installed by default. This is not a defect so you won't be able to return it unless it is less than 30 days from purchase (hopefully).

No. If your unit when you made the order requires an ssd to be in the m2 slot then it is included. But if it does not require one then it is (correction: NOT included) included. This is what I have read in some of the postings.

So better give them a call to confirm the info.

I have a non hybrid drive. It's 1Tb plain, and I don't have 24Gb SSD

Then you are out of luck unfortunately. They removed the slot as a cost cutting measure on the cheaper versions of this laptop.

So my only option is to replace the existing HDD with a SSD, or buy an Ultrabay for SSD and have them both?

You can use SSHD or SSD + Hdd dual drive or an ssd of larger capacity as the options.

The SSD dual drive by WD is an option for sure but it is not as fast as a dedicated SSD and needs special drivers that only work in windows (and it is expensive for what you get). I would just buy as big a 2.5 SSD as you can afford and if you need more storage then you can buy an ultrabay caddy of ebay and put the 1 TB HDD in that.
