Y510p SSD not showing up anywhere?

2014-05-18, 16:15 PM

Well, I went to my laptop this morning and Intel RST gave me a message that my SSD came unplugged. I figured the program was bugged so I rebooted my computer. When the computer booted back up the SSD was still not listed in Intel RST so I checked disk management and device manager and my SSD was not listed in either location. I have never taken the laptop apart so it should not have accidenetally come out (It is M.2 and M.2 uses a screw to secure it right?). Also, I have the y510p with the 24GB SSD.

Should I try to open it up and resit the SSD? The laptop is still under warranty and I would not like to void the warranty if I do not have to.

Try running in command prompt with admin rights (winkey + x, A) eccmd -info.

sounds like that SSD just broke :/ these SSD cards are so sensetive that they easly break :/ they are almost same kind that is installed in ultra slim laptops thats why you should never use them as OS drive since slim laptops that has them have got OS installed on them and then it break easly :/ thats problem with these SSD cards :( so if taking it out and then putting it back in doesen't fix it then it is mostlikely the SSD card is broken :/

Will opening up the laptop and reseating it void my warranty? And, will this SSD card be covered under the warranty?
