Y570 Boot and other problems.

2012-01-16, 17:55 PM

So i recently bought a y570 (the i7 version). It is a great laptop..blazing fast, however, i have come across some very serious problems(only had the laptop for about 3 weeks).

1. Boot problem: After shutting down the computer, and then starting it again after a long period of time (8hrs or so), the computer never seems to boot up properly. As in, i press the power button, the computer turns on for a brief second, then it turns off...then i press the power button again and it starts up, and then turns off. I have to do this for about 6 times, then it starts up.

2.After starting up, everytime loads up properly except two things. The date/time and the taskbar.

                - As for the date/time, everytime i start the computer, the date and time get set to Jan 1st, 2010 at 12:00AM, and I have to manually set the time.Everytime.

-The taskbar, I have a picture of what i mean.

As you can see, there are blank spaces....yep..happens everytime..

So, should i return this laptop and get a better one? Or is a hardware problem? Thank you.

hey IceCreamCone,

welcome to the forums,

could you head over to >> http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_list.aspx?CategoryID=867235

check that all the drivers on your unit is up to date based on the link above.

if the problem persist, use the recovery disc which i hope you had made earlier on and if murphy's law knocks, get in contact with our tech team via
