Re: Y570 - Why do games run better off my battery and choppy when its plugged in?

2012-03-16, 12:11 PM

I apologize in advance for the English is googletranslator
I had the same problem. Notebook cooling can not cope at 100% CPU after power Intel TurboBoost technology
At 84-86 ° C, the CPU podtaktovává and this causes lag in games
I'm here to set PCI Express - Control of the state line - Plugged = Medium Power Save
Minimum state CPU - 100%
maximum state of CPU - 100%
Now it works so that the temperature reaches 84-86 ° C off TurboBoost
In the near future I'm going to buy a cooling pad Zalman NC-2000 and I know if coolenough to handle load
Again, sorry for my English parents always forced into German

BY THE WAY I got tips for people who want to have a better Mass Effect 3 experience

http://developer.nvidia.com/directx

These Nvidia directx drivers (particularly 10 and 11) make running ME3 way smoother and faster than without.  I'm not sure about other games, but installing these drivers helped Mass Effect 3 way better.  Just another helpful tip.

*EDIT* Nvm it doesn't help that much, dont bother.

I found a fix which worked for me. In Nvidia control panel, Global Settings, (Make sure the Preferred Graphics is the Nvidia card), Change the power management mode to prefer Maximum Preformance. Also, I have the Maximum pre-redendered frames to 1... I will change that and see what happens. Please try and see if it works. I still have maybe a few lags but not as many as before! :)

It does make the stuttering a lot less, but we need a fix that will prevent the stuttering completely.

555mm GT driver 8.17.12.8590 November 27, 2011
windows update - all downloads
high performance power scheme - default
Calendula fan set up for effective heat dissipation (third option)
Everest run - run a stability test of the system (I'll run about 3 minutes)
run GTA IV, Battlefield 3, LANoire, Batman AC, no stuttering
This works for me

New GPU driver update available on Geforce's site. Anyone who wants to install it should perform a CLEAN install to avoid problems!

Hey guys, me again. The 296.10 drivers didn't do the job for me. It still stutters in skyrim and bf3. For now, only the 285.79beta drivers removed the stuttering in my system.

But is 285.79 as good as the newer drivers performance wise?
