Re: Y70 screen (flashing - blinking)

2015-11-17, 11:30 AM

Thanks for your post AJ. I thought I was outwith the 14 day return period but after reading this thread I realised it was 14 days from receipt, not date of postage. I am waiting on a RMA now to return the laptop.

Back to using my old £300 Acer - which, despite it's decrepit slowness, has had fewer problems in 5 years than I've had in 2 weeks with the new Lenovo. Sigh.

Re: Y70 screen (flashing - blinking)

I have the same problem that cdavis411. Lenovo service had my y70-70 touch for more than a month. Also I have called asking for the status and they have told me that it would probably be within the week.

Then a week goes by and no update.

I really don't know what to do.

Why Lenovo don't send us a new one?

I'am so angry,  before this experience I thought Lenovo was a serius company.

I want a solution!

Did that help anybody? Did it work out well? Because it doesn't seem to that this solved the problem for rather all people here. Can there be provided an additional solution?

I installed the new bios and have all drivers up to date, but the problem persists. Everytime I open a new webpage or software, the screen flashes for 1 to 5 minutes before it's usable.

Send it into the support depot ASAP there is nothing you can do to resolve the issue with software updates or resets. Good luck. I have neen without my Y70 for over a month.

Re: Y70 screen (flashing - blinking)

I did send my original Y-70 to the service depot, they were at a loss. First, they said there was nothing wrong with it, then they somehow found it was the display and the battery (the battery was on back order, so I had to wait)

I called and escalated the case, they sent me a new replacement. IT IS CRAP! the same, actually worse than the first one. LENOVO IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE, IT IS NOW A COMPANY TO AVOID, DON'T BUY LENOVO!

They offered to reimburse my money, but I refused! (After 7 months of succumbing to their broken processes and nonesense, returning what i just paid for the laptop, won't cut it) I want to make an example of this insolence. I will show all the people I know how bad it is, so no one I know buys LENOVO, and for them to spread the word.

The case managers are nothing but employees that don't give two crap about the customer, nor the company they work for. I suggested to them to send me another replacement (and make sure to quality controlled it before), or admit that LENOVO is AWARE of this issue and make it public, and then I would accept my money back. I really don't care for the money (I only paid just above one thousand dollars for this useless piece of dirt) What I really care is for people to boycot LENOVO because they are basically NOT A GOOD COMPANY

A reputable company would not ignore this issue for this long without finding a suitable solution for the affected customers. If they cannot replace a faulty unit with a working one, then one is to assume that they know they don't have a reliable product.

I managed to sell it without losing too much money on what I paid for it. I will never again in my life buy lenovo or recommend it to anyone. It's appalling to me that they would put out such defective hardware and refuse to acknowledge it or come up with a repair in a speedy time.

I hope your brand goes bankrupt.

Re: Y70 screen (flashing - blinking)

update.

In high performance or balanced mode monitor blinks and etc. Power saver mode is fine. Turned all setings similar as in high performance mode except one: processor power managment-minimum processor state. In this field i put 99%. As on 100% monitor start blink again. Works well, no blinks anymore, only cpu speed is 2.57GHz not 2.6GHz. But in fact, in high performance even if i put down minmum processor state to 5% monitor keeps blink. So, its software problem. Lenovo plz fix it!
