Re: Y70 screen (flashing - blinking)

2015-12-20, 12:28 PM

Hello!

I have a same problem.

I try update the BIOS, driver, clean the charger and change the CPU power manager  but the flashing left.
It's a sw or hw problem ?

Can I fix it or warranty problem?

and there is another problem

Imprinted on display; e.g.: I wach the youtube after thet I open the visual studio (dark skin) I see the youtube surface in the background. But I turn off the laptop in the evening and morning I turn on and the problem solved so it no so good.
Probably monitor polarization is bad.

I send back the lenovo service center but the service didn't do anything(Hungary --> TMX service).

I bought this coputer 30.09.15 and so expensive the laptop. I very disappointed in the Lenovo.

Please help me and all Lenovo Y50-70 owner.

Thanks!

It is hands down a warranty problem, no doubt. Lenovo, for some reason, has not responded to this properly even though it's one of the most commented threads in the forum.

I've tried all the tricks mentioned in this thread and experimented by myself, but the problem returns and it feels like something is deteriorating.

BIOS Update - Check
Disable Intel Display Adapter - Check

Set powerplan/energy manager to power saver - Check

Change CPU Power Management to 99% - Check

Only thing left now is getting the machine serviced and the display cable and/or panel changed.

It's worth nothing that the ASUA G501JW has the same problem and I'm quite sure it uses the same panel, an LG 15'6".

Lenovo is not making it better by having support (here in Norway) not calling me back.

My Y40 is doing the same thing.  The screen is flashing only when the computer is running on battery power.  The bios and drivers are updated.

Talked to support yesterday and even though they need to diagnose the problem the supportguy said they usually change the LCD-cable and/or the panel. Crossing my fingers that they have parts in stock and can get it back to me in a reasonable time.

Sent mine in 3 weeks ago and got it back after exactly 2 weeks.
They replaced the LCD-Cable and the LCD itself (although they didnt mention this I am sure they did, because the small scratch in my panel is now gone).

Plus they did a BIOS update, but I did it beforehand and I hasn´t changed anything.

But now there is now flickering so far for me.

I sent my laptop in sometime during September, I got it back before my birthday and it was still flickering in the screen like it wasusing a seizure/epilepsy.  If u guys watched that video, thats what it would do. I got my laptop back, they told methat theychanged thescreen battery AND MOTHERBOARD (LMFAO ON THAT LAST ONE). And so now on december 17th I sent my laptop in, I will reply once I receive the laptop, (fixed or not).getting ready to file a complaint if im not happy.

I'm getting my laptop back on Monday. I called Lenovo about what they did to my laptop and they told me that they replaced the Harddrive and reimaged it.  Can't wait
