Re: (Z570) Lenovo Energy Management for Windows 8

I asked that Question on microsoft answers i too am running windows 7 version of energy management in compatibility mode but it resolves problem for time being but the software still has compatibility issues if u look in Windows Event viewer It will give these message "The application (Lenovo Energy Management, from vendor Lenovo Group Limited) has the following problem: Lenovo Energy Management is incompatible with this version of Windows. For more information, contact Lenovo Group Limited." So it will be for lenovo to remove the bugs from windows 8 version of Energy management software and release it as soon as possible because it is no good to run incompatible program .

I think it's been confirmed multiple times that 8.0.2.2 doesn't work yigit, I'm (guessing/)hoping this has already made it to the Engineers by this point given how long it's been since the frist of many bug reports. What would be most helpful is when we can expect a working windows 8 driver.

That said, I'm currently using a win7 driver in capatibility mode, which occasionally have the symptoms of poor battery contack, but mihgt be a driver issue, so by sheer chance if this hasn't been on the agenda of things to be fixed, please bring it up

Re: (Z570) Lenovo Energy Management for Windows 8

Hello!

Since Lenovo isn't showing any interest about fixing EM software I decided to ditch it completely. My computer is usually connected to external screen an to external power source, so battery can be removed for most of the time.
I am only concerned about thermal management and that's keeping me from installing Win8.
So, can anybody tell me, will cpu cooler fan speed increase under heavy cpu load without EM installed?

My laptop is y470p and sorry Lenovo, after this support fail it's my last Lenovo...

Thanks for your help!

Bye!

I think we need to rally more people together to press the "I also have this question" button on the thread. Perhaps if it said 1,000 people are looking for a fix about this, the drivers would actually be fixed. This is the main reason I am not upgrading to windows 8 permenantly and I switched back to windows 7. I need my battery to halt the charging at 50% by choosing the "best battery health" option and that simply doesn't work anymore with these corrupt drivers.

Just installed windows 8 on my Z570 and all the Lenovo drivers only to see that I'm having the same problem with energy management like everyone else. Shocked to see Lenovo has been publicly aware of this since July last year with no response or solution!

Given the amount of time that has transpired, one wonders if the problem can be fixed or has the Lenovo folks simply moved onto supporting newer models and left ours in the dust,  Whatever the reason, I'll be remembering this when choosing a brand for my next computer purchase. :smileywink:
