Re: Z570 Recovery boot problem

2013-08-18, 16:02 PM
Hi
This shouldn't happen, i believe, since i did this on my system without errors.
Are you sure all the steps mentioned? Did you rename the os.okr file to install.wim and then paste it in the windows directory? If yes, then we might have to use a longer method by using gimagex tool to apply the image and then create a boot entry via easy bcd
You can download it from here
http://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit-tools/gimagex/
And easy bcd from here
http://neosmart.net/Download/Register/1
Steps are simple, just download both the softwares from the links, then open up gimagex first. Goto apply tab, in source, select the image and set the drive to which you want to apply it in.(Format it first). Then apply the image.
After, this, dont reeboot, but first create a new boot entry for the drive and then reeboot and see if it works.

Hi
I looked over the internet. It seems to me a problem with some bios settings. Have you enabled usb legacy and turned off uefi before installing?

Also check this out.

And the things i wrote in my last post, was a direct way of installing windows by using the .wim file. If you applied it on an empty drive, then use Easybcd to create a boot entry for the drive you extracted too.

And i used from my digital life but sadly the deleted the links. You migh use this iso. Though, i would suggest you follow the gimagex steps, it would most probably work.

And it is very much possible that the usb might be the problem. You can see this method. Remember, first make a bootable disk usb and then replace the preexisting install.wim with the okr one.

Hi
Glad to know you were able to return to factory defaults.
About okr, it is not possible to make it working but you can install new recovery partition if you want to.
