Hi,

Have tried that, the issue remains the same.

Perhaps the channel you're using is crowded so that a channel change in the router and card might be needed.

This shouldn't be the case as I live in a rural area and there are no other competing networks. My previous laptop connected with no problem, and other devices in the house have no issues with signal strength or dropping connections.

Am I correct in assuming that the router and the other units are operating in the 802.11 n mode?

Wow yet another wireless issue for the Z585..come on Lenovo when are you going to sort out our laptops?

Believe it or not I've tried an external USB Wireless dongle and it was working perfectly for about a month and its now doing the same thing as the internal card?!?!

So do you have any suggestions to help out Mr. Safri regarding his problem?

Try the procedure given by Victorious in this link and see if it helps. https://communities.intel.com/message/208365#208365

I was told by support that I would have to return my laptop for a refund and that is my only suggestion.

Have tried the procedure suggested by Victorious, still having the same problem. Have also upgraded to windows 8.1 and the associated wireless card driver update, but has made no difference
