2021-04-04, 9:57 AM

Hello, my y520 has damaged egh89 shift and Fn keys, I read that it often happens, that it is a bad contact, but I didn't quite understand what I have to isolate ... does anyone here know? thanks

Hello abatjour,

Good to know you've initiated a post in the community.

Please try to isolate if this could be a hardware related issue by following the recommended steps below.

If certain keys do not work, follow the guide: https://support.lenovo.com/ph/en/solutions/ht103985-keyboard-keys-may-not-work

You can try using an external keyboard and see if the same issue happens.

Open CMD and try it also there (press Win + R and type CMD).

Compare this using the onscreen keyboard.

If the external keyboard and the onscreen keyboard works fine, but not on the CMD lines then likely there is a hardware issue and keyboard may have to be replaced for a resolution.
