external display with Y510

2008-07-25, 16:23 PM

Hi,

I bought an Y510 with the following configuration:

Processor      Intel Core 2 Duo T7250
System Board     Intel 965PM
Memory     2*1GB(667)
HDD     250GB / 5400rpm
Graphics     nVidia GeForce 8600M GTS 256M
ODD    DVD-RW
Audio     Intel Azalia
Ethernet     Intel Pro 4965AGN
Card Reader     6 in 1
Modem     56k Fastlink

OS     Lenovo Vista Home Premium

everything works fine expect a slight issue with my external display linked to my Y510 by vga. I can't find my lcd's native resolution in 1440x900. So I'm wondering if the graphic card could'nt handle definitively this resolution or maybe  I'd have to update the driver for the graphics card or for the display in order to get it.

 thank.

hi,

thank for the answer. but do you mean the lcd of Y510 or my external display? I've tried 1280x800 on my external display but it fits bad, the police is ugly and so on.

Oh, you meant your external LCD native resolution? Sorry, got you wrong.

I guess you'll  not be able to get better resolution on external monitor until you decrease it on internal, try this.

hi,

thank. I've reduced the resolution of the internal display but the native resolution (1440x900) on my external display doesn't appear in the resolution choices. So if  anyone had changed the driver for the graphics card on Y510, could he or she tell me if  1440x900 appears in the resolution choice.

Manitri;

I had a similar issue when I hooked up m Samsun monitor for the first time. It wouldn't show the native resolution of 1680x1050. After installing the software that came with the monitor, i worked perfectly. I suggest you do the same.

Hi,

Thank but I haven't  any software for my lcd. My lcd is a ASUS VW191s. So is there anyone who has updated the driver for the graphics card and has now the following resolution 1440x900?
