I've got a Lenovo Yoga 530, which I've had for 2 years, and it's just started having this issue in the last week!

UPDATE:

based on a solution from a similar post (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkBook-Notebooks/Computer-enters-quot-sleep-quot-mode-and-won-t-turn-on-until-shut-down/m-p/4604831?page=3) I tried installing/updating Windows 10 from the Windows site using "Create Windows 10 installation media" https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and it worked!! It downloaded and reinstalled Windows for quite a while, but now my Flex-14ARR now can recover from sleep. Hopefully works for others.

Nearly new P1 Gen3. Always overheats in sleep mode, so much so that some melting/distortion of the bottom case has occurred. All fan activity stops when entering sleep mode, but the cpu continues to cook away until the system kills itself, requiring reboot. Windows logs this event as an "unexpected shutdown".

All drivers of to date, bios updated, windows updated, all power/sleep settings default, but problem persists.

Besides reinstalling Windows, there must be a fix from Lenovo by now? Or recognize a serious problem?

Hi, my Ideapad 5 14ARE05 has exactly the same problem. I tried everything I could find on the web. I completely reinstalled windows also and the issue persist.

If a solution will not be found quickly I am considering returning the laptop.

Please help with the issue!

Thanks

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga and face the exact same issue. Very frustrating. I don't recall this issue being there when I first bought the system. It was one of the updates that probably caused this. Not willing to reinstall windows. However, would like a solution.
