Are you still having issues?

If you're trying to access your wireless settings, you need to be able to get into your router via it's address.

Just a summary:

I think that procedure was already suggested by Neokenchi in message 3 in relation to the dropping problem.

With regards to the "limited access" described by Ngub in message 12 the solution is to use WPA2/AES settings in the router and the Notebook's system wireless setup. There were request to Ngub (by Nnaydole and MarianoRO)for the procedure in changing to AES which remain unfulfilled.

: No problem.

For everybody: You might want to read this thread in the Intel Forum website. You will find how tos and guidelines given by Intel in relation to this problem.

If you need to change your wireless router settings, you must be able to access the router with another computer or through ethernet. Once that's done, check the back of your router to see the default address set on the router. Use that address to login to it and change the settings. In my case the address was:

http://dlinkrouter/

This was the default address for my D-Link DIR-615 Router. Your router could have an IP address assigned. IE. 192.x.x.x

If you were the one to setup the router, you should know what the password to the admin account is. Else, ask the person who set up the router for the password. After you login there should be a wizard you can follow to change settings or a verbose list of settings you can change.

I hope that helps.

@LenBlazer, thanks for that intel link. Really informative. TBH I heard about the Wi-Fi issues for this model before purchasing it and decided to overlook it. I'm now having second thoughts about the purchase. As of now, my connection has dropped once over the past 24 hours which was solved with a simple restart. If anyone has great success with the adapter, please do tell.
