Hi,

if i etc formate the C drive into a MBR version or w.e it's called instead of GPT would that then make OKR 8.0 stop working? also i mean by only formating it from a GPT type to MBR but not touch size or anything.

Hi there,
If you change the format from GPT to MBR then the OKR will stop working.
Anything that changes the serial number of the partition will kill OKR.

well that sucks :/ is there any method like ASUS have got? they have a program named asus backtracker which re-creates every partitions once you create a USB recovery then when you boot into USB and run recovery all the partitions you wiped will be restored :/ i really hope this is possible with lenovo since it's pain in the arse not to formate to MBR or w.e you want to install any other os you want instead, without losing OKR 8.0 and so on.

Question: In the hdd there are two logical drives C and D. The hdd is formatted with the GPT partition style. Can you change the partition style of C to mbr and not D? If yes, how? If no, why?

Re: new disk partioning and one key recover feature

Hi ,

1. I just got new Idea-pad Y510P with "1TB 5400 RPM + 24GB SSD" . I shrinked the 900GB win8 partition  to 100GB and 800GB. Later OneKey Recovery did not work. I read that if the someone changed the size of any partition, OneKey Recovery will stop working. It does not make sense.. At least for managing the data, I need to have three different partitions and for installation of Linux new partitions will add to the system.

2. Although I see  24GB partition in disk management(Disk 0 in the attached picture) , I could not find anyway to access to that partition. Is it like cache to speed up the data or separate solid state hard drive or something else ?

3.In case to get ride of all partitions made by factory and not being worried about "OneKey Recovery"; to install a new windows 8 and Linux, deleting the winre_drv , system_drv and etc make problems?

Thanks,

Oshni

lawl you can access that 24GB one just fine xD it's one named LENOVO ( D: ) that contains drivers that is your 24GB SSD m.2 card :)

Answer to: @LenBlazer yes you can touch 1TB one while keeping 24GB one un-touched since 24GB one is a SSD m.2 card seperated device ;) it's not 24GB cache inside the 1TB one.

I don't understand what you are stating about my question. Thanks anyway.

@LenBlazer, you asked me if it's possible to touch 1TB without touching 24GB so thats the answer to your question.
