Re: new disk partioning and one key recover feature

2017-02-02, 19:36 PM

I have a y50-70

My sshd broke after only a year and a half

I don't care if I have the 1 touch restore I just want to be able to use my laptop again when I install my new sshd

How would or should I go about doing this ? How can I install windows and update all the drivers on the pc since the HD is done for?

As below with DVD's.
Otherwise as you had Win 10 running hence activated. Download the ISO of the same build. EG Home 64bit from Microsoft. With a new drive installed which you should see in bios. Do a clean install, Lenovo driver updates, tools, utilities etc and MS Windows Updates. This will entail countless reboots and approx an entire day to complete. Add your apps after.

Due to the new FTC Laws on purchased hardware, Lenovo is required, by law, in the United States to send all original software upon request. Just email and ask, but be ready to prove that you where the original owner.

Thank you for that info! Could you possibly provide a link or reference? The FTC site search is worthless.

Thanks again!

Re: new disk partioning and one key recover feature

2018-01-14, 17:21 PM

Good morning,

First time poster. I have a Lenovo Y510P laptop that I bought from Newegg in 2014. The configuration is the 1 TB HDD (C:) with the 22 GB SSD (D:).  It came with Windows 8, upgraded to 8.1 but eventually downgraded to WIndows 7 and a couple of years ago, upgraded to Windows 10.

My problem is I want to restore the laptop to factory condition. I'm having a really hard time with this. When I turn on the computer (after pressing the Novo button), I select System Recovery and it just boots right to Windows 10.

From Windows 10, when I select OneKey Recovery, it says the "The program cannot find the service partition. This function is currently unavailable".

When I do a DISKPART, and select the SSD drive, I see the 100 MB recovery partition. It's partition 1. See below:

So the good news is that it's there but for whatever reason, it cant be seen by OneKey Recovery.

It's also worth noting that since I was on Windows 7 previously, the BIOS mode is Legacy Support, not EFFI.

Another issue I'm having is that when I use the Windows Installation Media Creation tool to download the Windows ISO file and burn it to a USB drive, it says Access Denied. Anyone have this issue before?

Again, all I'm trying to do is restore my computer to brand new. Thanks!

Re: Disk Partioning and OneKey Recovery (OKR) Feature : New Thread

2018-01-17, 2:09 AM

In addition, as far as I read from the threads, most of the users are having the issue because of OKR button doesn't work at all. I was trying to find a way to solve the problem and I just came up with one recently. It's not 100% solution for the OKR button but if you're having trouble to install the OS as well the solution/suggestion below may help:

- Download the Hiren's Boot Manager

- Exract the files and run the EXE. You will need to create a bootable CD/DVD/USB device first

- After creating it, you may need to change the"startup order" at BIOS

- Once you manage to start-up your computer with the bootable disk, choose Plop Boot Manager

- Then you will see 3 or 4 Partition. Choose the Partition 4 ( approx 15-20GB ) and your computer will start with One Key Recover.

- Follow the instructions ( basically Yes > Yes ) and wait for the process. Once it's done, it'll ask you to restart the computer. Either remove the bootable device or change the order again. You will be able to access the Windows once again even though OKR button doesn't work

Re: Disk Partioning and OneKey Recovery (OKR) Feature : New Thread

2018-02-15, 21:13 PM

Hi,

I still can´t restore my system to initial state. The following message apears: "The program cannot find the initial backup image. This function is current unavailable".

My partition table are:

Partition1 - Primary - 200MB

Partition2 - Primary - 421GB

Partition0- Extended - 28GB

Partition4 - Logical - 28GB

Partition3 - OEM - 14GB

I´ve used diskpart to change partition3 to ID "07" and the message in OKR changed: "The program cannot restore the system partition because its structure is incorrect. You may have to recreate the partition to continue."

Any ideas? My computer is a Lenovo G460.

Thanks.
