Lenovo Y560 & Windows 7

2011-02-08, 18:10 PM

Hi there all!

I am having some problems with my windows 7. Frend of mine gave me his recovery disk to try to help him something (it does not metter)... So, when i finished all that my recovery part of Hard Disk Drive is missing. So now i cant recover my windows 7 again! I have downloaded original version of windows 7 home edition but it says that key of the disk and my key that is under laptop do not match.

So i continue searching and i found out that this is version that is instaled only by Lenovo. So, i went to firm that provided me laptop and they do not posess the windows 7 instalation that is needed for my laptop.

So if anyone have backup partition or DVD or Windows 7 iso (that works with my key) i wold bee pleased if you can help me and upload it to some FTP server so i can download it.

Thanks for your time!

recovery discs includes serial numbers ( won't be legal ) and i don't think anyone will upload 2-3 dvd.

as they said, lenovo doesn't provide recovery discs unless you order one.

try to press one key recover button ( arrow sign ) to perform clean windows installation.

if it doesn't work, you have to order recovery discs or ship your laptop back to lenovo

( lenovo may charge you if you ship it back )

Z560 XP Dual Boot Question

2011-02-11, 11:00 AM

Hi,

I know there are threads about this already but i'm having difficulty finding the information i need. I have an ideapad z560, large C drive small D drive with drivers on it and presumably a hidden partition for one key recovery.

I need to dual boot with windows xp in order to use my mbox2 as digidesign aren't writing windows 7 drivers for it.

Can I make a new (50gbish) partition on my C drive without losing the functionality of OneKey Recovery?

Thanks.

Also,

If I wanted to install XP on the D: drive (29gb) and not bother with any partitioning, would this cause any problems?

Thanks again.

@ ecclesisaliar

if you resize volumes, one key recover will stop working.

and you can install another operation system on volume d, but i don't think it'll be possible to install xp on windows 7.

you need to install first xp, then newer version ( vista, windows 7 )

( if the installation process doesn't go wrong, you can use one key recovery )
