Re: Trying to partition my Y460P, but there are already max amount of partitions?

2011-02-23, 19:21 PM

So...what are my alternatives here? Because its kind of silly that i bought this laptop but i cant even use the HDD properly due to the recovery mechanic. My D drive is incredibly tiny and almost the entire space of my HDD is committed to my C drive.

You are saying that even if i burnt the recovery disc, it will NOT work if i touch the partitions AT ALL? In other words, if you touch the partitions at all, you cannot recover the system IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE?

yes, indeed.

as you can see here, there's nothing you can do about it ( both parititoning and using okr )

just partition the volume and use ghost or 3rd party backup applications to perform windows installation when you need.

also, please, take a look at this thread, too.

Will normal windows installation CDs work with the Y460P?

If not, what other recovery options do i have available if i want to backup my windows installation AND modify the partitions?

shut down your computer and press one key recover button to switch on your computer.

then try to burn recovery discs.

when you press okr button if windows loads, just tell me if you see any partition instead off c & d.

Re: new disk partioning and one key recover feature

when i press the one key recovery button, it shows the vista loading screen. once it loads into lenovo one key recovery, there is only 2 options. what should i do? there is a backup but only backups files from C/D drive and no factory restore option.
