Re: solution for updating graphic cards for y560 with switchable graphics only [catalyst 11.2]

i dont recommend using drivers "only for switchable" on single graph. If you have single - use Ati official drivers.

Arg! Still cannot install these updates, although it didn't break all of my graphics unlike the first version 11 update. It says I've installed it but there were warnings during the update. However my device manager does not show that it's installed and there's no Catalyst Control Center on my computer. Also, when I clicked on "View Log" to show me what warnings I got it doesn't show anything. I tried restarting my computer and installing again but still nothing. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64-bit.

@turbox

This might help. Switch to ATi card. perform next steps:

1. Download Latest "Driver Sweeper" application. Install it. Do nothing with it for now.
2. Uninstall any driver you have installed right now via windows manager. Select Full Uninstall.
3. Reboot to "Safe Mode" (Push F8 constantly while after BIOS boot).
4. Run Driver Sweeper. Check "ATI" box. Clean Remains of previous driver (MUTUAL. You thought that ATi does good job about uninstalling their drivers? )
4. Open Device Manager. Locate Video tab, there must be 2x "standard driver". If there is something else - delete all and refresh Device Manager.
4.1 Go to registry: HKLM-->Software--->Intel - delete Intel folder.
5. Now your system is more or less clean from ATi&Intel video drivers.
6. Reboot to normal (as usual you boot) mode.
7. Start installation of 11.3.

Re: solution for updating graphic cards for y560 with switchable graphics only [catalyst 11.3]

I've tried everything but can't get it to work.  The annoying thing is that I had it working on my old y560 but after repair they reimaged it so I'm trying to do it again

I'm doing following steps:

- start w/ factory drivers

- uninstall. Reboot

- install readyplus, went default options for everything. Reboot

- install leshcat. Reboot

no dice. I've tried 11.3 and 11.2. it fails every time with 'no AMD driver found' upon reboot and my resolution is back to 640x480.

I tried driversweeper, but that screwed up my system totally, it would be blank screen unless i booted in safe mode OR changed bios to discrete only. So I had to change bios to discrete only, reinstall factory drivers, then switch bios back to discrete.

Anybody seen this? is there some special way I have to configure readyplus that I'm missing?

@Wintermute

I had a similar experience while installing 11.2 when I driver sweeped and my screen never turned on again.  Only in safe boot mode.  I basically gave up and went back to official drivers.  Today, I did everything again but this time using 11.3, encountered blank screen on uninstall, forced turned off pc and miraculously, the display turned on with  normal boot.  Did leshcat's bcdedit -setoptions... method to install, reboot to find drivers not working with onekey error and amd error.  Checked device manager and found a note "drivers are not signed" so went on instaling readyboot to find everything working.

The only issue now is that I can't seem to get Intel GPU switched on.  My switch isnt working as well as the rightclick>configure switchable.  Only shows the window with High-power & Power-saving.  The bottom options "default, apply is grayed.

I think my issue is that readyplus is not working.

I poked around some files in c:\boot and found traces of logs saying 'XYZ not found' and similar messages, so I think it wasn't grabbing the right variables. I think this is down to two possibilities

- I have a nonstandard partition thanks to the morons at lenovo repair. They somehow rebuilt my machine using a partitioning method that onekey doesn't like (LOL), and the 100Mb hidden parition is BEHIND not in front of the main system partition (**bleep**).

- I have rapiddrive feature

Oh... not to knowlegable in boot settings and "nonstandard partion" so I can't be much of a help

In other news, do anyone get rare-occasional amd driver crashes that has been recovered?  This is what it looks like in event viewer

LOLL

I seem to have identified it as an issue with jdownloader and the new driver perhaps.  Everything is fine now that I use a different launcher for it.
