y50-70 sound problem

so for past few weeks I have been having this issue where the sound would stop working suddenly. Nothing through the speakers or when headphones are plugged in.

It will be working fine and then say I pause a video and then play it; no sound.

after the last major update on windows 8.1 everything seemed to have returned to normal, but after a few days again the same problem.

Now everytime I want to get it working again I have to restart the audio service("Audiosrv") from the task manager, which only fixes it temporarily until after few min when I pause the audio source. It will continue to work if there is some audio playing.


Anyone else has this issue? Or knows of a fix?

Thanks for Posting!


Try reverting to an inbox Audio Driver

     Open Device Manager > sound and gaming controller

     You should be able to see your Audio Device there  (Realtek or Conexant)

      Rightclick on it and select Uninstall, You will be prompted with a Check box asking to delete driver software

      Place a check on the box and continue to uninstall.

      restart the computer and Repeat the same step Untill the window will not show a check box anymore, This means that there are no other driver installed exept the Inbox driver.

      Restart the computer again and observe if you will still lost the Audio.
