y510p Keyboard

2014-06-08, 19:15 PM

Hello community,

I spilled coke on my keybaord, the laptop is okay, but some keys were sticky.

Trying to clean the mess I took some keys out and I can't get them in, and some keys are are really sticky, this annoys me a lot and I think I need a new keyboard for my laptop.

The problem is here:
- In my country there is no Lenovo distributor
- I can't find where to buy a keyboard
- I searched on ebay and aliexpress but there are no y510p keyboards

The questions is where can I buy a new keyboard for the laptop?
(currently using europe layout - qwerty with the big enter).

Thanks in advance,
Gezim

p.s Can I use a y500 keyboard instead ? By the looks it's 100% the same as the y510p.

I know this might sound a little weird, but did you try taking the keyboard off and putting it in the dishwasher?  It'll get the sticky stuff off, and as long as you make sure it's dried out thoroughly before you try to plug it back in it shouldn't do any damage.  Maybe once it's clean it'll be easier to get the keys back in.  You might as well try it; you don't really have anything to lose.
