y570 power button

2012-07-23, 7:54 AM

I'm a Marine who is currently deployed. My laptop fell off my bed and the screen broke. So I waited 2 months for a replacement screen to arrive so i could install it. Unfortunately, having never done it before, i made some mistakes. One of which was accidently unplugging the thin power strip that goes from the power button to the main computer. I though i might as well get a whole new power button circuit board as well as the power strips to be on the safe side. unfortunately tech support is never available while i'm awake. could someone help me get these parts?

Plug it back in? They are meant to be removable.

And Welcome!

Let us know if you've solved your problem.  Depending on where you are deployed, I will try to locate a local service provider if there is one available.

Thanks for your service!

Well the power strip that connect to the power button is frayed slightly, so it must be replaced. I have no local customer support because i'm on ship most of the time or in the middle of the desert, but i do get mail and can do it myself provided i can get the part. i just don't know the part number.

You will need to order a power board which contains the circuit you are talking about.  The part number is 31049884.

You can order it at lenovospareparts.com through this link:

http://www.lenovospareparts.com/31049884--BOARD-SENSOR-PIQY1-CAP-WCABLE_p_584.html

I located the part number in the Y570 Hardware Maintenance Manual:

http://download.lenovo.com/UserFiles/UserGuide/en/User's%20guides%20and%20manuals/Y470Y570/Lenovo%20Y470Y570%20Hardware%20Maintenance%20Manual.pdf

Admin edit - this site is no longer valid.  Please visit the Lenovo support site for latest information on obtaining Lenovo service parts.
