3000 Y410 Sound issues

Cansomeone please help me figure out the issues with the sound on this computer. I understand it is supposed to have a decent sound system on it. Could not prove it by mine. The sound is very low no matter what I play on it. If I use my headphones the sound is great. I have tried all the new and updated drivers from the Lenove sight and from the manufacturer site. No luck.

In fact whenever I install a new or updated driver for the sound card I completely loose my sound and have to go back to the original driver. If anyone knows a fix for this problem please let me know.

Thanks

Shane

Re: 3000 Y410 Sound issues

Please. anyone who is technically incharge from lenovo can help us address our common concern about low sound quality of Y410.  Have leonvo tested and checked all the suggestions that qourom have suggested and tried.

Hope to hear from you technical experts.

Thanks

Re: 3000 Y410 Sound issues

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, some Lenovo employees do read and post to this forum.  Mark is quite active, and several others post as well.  In addition, there are lurkers who just read without making public comments although sometimes they ask the mod team to either gather more information or pass along advice.

However, here are the expectations of their participation from the Welcome message:

These communities have been created to provide a high quality atmosphere in which users of Lenovo products and services may share experiences and expertise. While members from Lenovo may participate at intervals to engage in the discussions and offer advice and suggestions, this forum is not designed as a dedicated and staffed support channel.

The bottom line is there's no guarantee that you will get an answer to a question here directly from Lenovo.

On the other hand, you just might!  ;-)

Re: 3000 Y410 Sound issues

Same problem before.  In updating the software, it doesn't end in just downloading the driver.  If you test it, you won't hear any sounds.  You have to install what you have downloaded.  Go to downloaded application folder, install the updated driver. Go to control panel, speaker icon, maximize all volumes, and cancel enhancements.  That did the trick for me.   HTH
