Ablout core temperatures Y510p single GPU (755m) ?

Hello everybody

I wonder if my temperature values are normal.

I took a screenshot about an hour after opening my computer. I opened few tabs in the browser and listened to music with winamp for some time.

Briefly, for a general use, are the following values normal?

(Thank you in advance)

CPU: Intel I7-4700QM 2.4G
RAM: 8G
SSHD: 1T+8G

Re: Ablout core temperatures Y510p single GPU (755m) ?

Completely normal. For web browsing with 10 tabs or more plus mp3 / flash player music, mid 40s is completely normal. I get the same readings for my 2.2 year old Y470. I'd be concerned with Full load temps when encoding videos that use all threads such as Handbrake because my Core Temp reaches to 90 - 93 degrees Celsius (Turbo Boost is always ON).

Re: Ablout core temperatures Y510p single GPU (755m) ?

I am on a y410p single GPU, get the same temp readings myself in that situation.

38-48*C CPU/GPU for idle to light usage (browsing, music, office ect)

58*C - 80*C CPU/GPU max for running games like CS:GO, LoL, WoW for long periods of time, instantly drops back down to the 40s when you exit out pretty much (min or two tops).

Thank you for your valuable comments.
I've just got my computer, and I was wondering if there is a problem related with the temperatures.
Instant max values make me nervous; well, is it normal?

Re: Ablout core temperatures Y510p single GPU (755m) ?

Instant spikes in temperature are normal. I do get those when the CPU suddenly requires the full turbo boost for a brief time. The reason the temperature spikes all of the sudden is the due to the lag / rate of heat transfer between the sudden core temp rise to the heatsink.

I'd be worried if the instant temp spike jumps from 45 (idling for a long time) to 75 (a brief CPU load), then you will need to repaste since the thermal paste isn't doing its job well anymore. If the spike is only around 60, it's normal.

Re: Ablout core temperatures Y510p single GPU (755m) ?

I've been testing for a few days.. in normal use without playing games, it sometimes sees instant 70 degrees but the avarage values are generally stable around 40-49 degrees.
After a point, it makes me paranoiac.

Idle or load temps? See if the fan is blasting hot air out the vents.
